Sunday 1st August Lammas festival 10 am to 4 pm
Help us celebrate this ancient festival of the New Harvest. Watch the bringing in of the wheat, milling, and finally baking of the Lammas loaf.
10 am Wheat will arrive by pony and trap.
11 am Wheat cleaning in back yard using seed dresser run by Lister engine.
11.30 am Vintage tractor charity run stop-
Midday Milling using either the vintage Barron Vertical Stone Mill or
the Windmill -
Free Bread making session for adults and children in Millers Barn. (Book
in at the shop when you arrive -
1 pm Lammas Bread making demonstration – rear of windmill if dry, Millers Barn if wet.
3 pm Toasting of the new harvest and tasting the bread.
4 pm Finish.
Draught Wheat beer from the Iceni Brewery will be available for sale all day in the back yard!
