The Denver Mill Teashop, Bakery
Coffee Lounge & Tea Garden
A place to eat, drink and relax.
The bread served in the teashop is hand made and baked daily by our bakers, in our
ovens, from our flour, which we grind on site from cereals grown in sight of the
Windmill -
Similarly all the cakes and confectionary are hand made on site using local ingredients.
We are able to produce our special single variety flours by virtue of a unique working partnership with local organic farmer Andrew Charlton at Poplar Farm in Stow Bridge who is now also now supplying us with eggs from hens fed on Denver Mill semolina. Andrew’s neighbour Alex next door at Hill Farm also helps out with (just as local!) conventional crops.
We have been developing the uses for the Spelt Andrew grows for us, and are building another partnership with DJ Barnard Meats a Norfolk family run business that rears, butchers and supplies its own pork, beef and lamb. We have so far produced sausages, scotch eggs and sausage rolls and they supply the traditional Hotpots and Casseroles on our Supper Night and lunch menus.
After a great deal of research and tasting we were delighted to have all our teas and coffees supplied by local company Butterworth & Son of Bury St Edmunds. We offer a range of loose leaf teas including an excellent everyday Breakfast blend, an outstanding Earl Grey Blue Lady and seasonal Summer and Winter teas. We also have Fruit and Herb teas to be served hot or cold, and our Barista trained staff will be pleased to prepare your order of top quality fresh coffees or hot chocolate.
Other local suppliers to the Tea Shop and Bakery include ham from AJ Dent, fresh vegetables and fruit supplied daily by Accent Fresh (who source locally whenever possible) and South Lincs Food Services deliver three times a week.
For snacks and light meals the main Teashop provides a cosy setting, and the foyer is becoming increasingly popular, particularly on sunny days.
The hideaway Coffee Lounge is also available for small meetings and functions.

Outside, you can relax under the sails of the Windmill or spend some time in the quiet and calm of our Tea Garden .
The small children’s play area can allow you to enjoy a drink, snack or meal in comfort whilst your children remain safe and near at hand.
Our service area adjoins the bakery and is always full of the smells of fresh baked bread, scones, cakes and wonderful smoked bacon. Throughout the year seasonal specials are always at hand , wether the spicy tang of hot cross buns or the warm richness of a Stollen loaf.

The quality and source of what you eat and drink is as important to us as it is to you.
Wherever possible here at the Mill we build relationships with local suppliers so we can offer a transparent supply chain from Plough to Plate.
